Working in my “hometown” was a dream for years. I’m so glad it finally came true.
I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I earned my Master of Science degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Syracuse University. I also hold a Bachelor of Art in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For the record, whenever these two schools play one another in sports, I always root for my Tar Heels. I bleed blue.
In May 2017, I joined WJZY, Fox 46 Charlotte as a television news reporter.
Prior to this, I worked as a reporter at WGHP, Fox 8 News in Greensboro, NC and WCTI, NewsChannel 12 in New Bern, NC.
My first on-air experience was awarded to me at the end of my graduate studies, where I served as a Capitol Hill Correspondent in Washington, DC for KNWA-TV, a station based in Fayetteville, AR.
The most common question people ask me about my job is, “Why did you become a television reporter?” As cliche as it sounds, I always respond, “Because it’s the best way for me to help people.” I chose this profession because at your best and worst moments, you deserve to have the chance to tell your story. It’s people like me who are eagerly waiting to share it.
