I am a Midwestern girl that has followed her passion for weather! Growing up in Kansas City, Missouri in the heart of tornado alley, my interest in weather was sparked from a very early age and made me want to learn more. After seeing the full extent of Mother Nature’s wrath while storm chasing in college, I knew that meteorology was my ticket. Once I received my Bachelors degree in Meteorology from the University of Missouri I jumped right in to the news scene. During my time in broadcasting I have dealt with various types of weather ranging from severe Midwestern storms to Nor’ Easters, major snow storms, widespread flooding, and tropical storms/hurricanes.
I joined the Fox 46 team in July of 2015 after spending almost 7 years at WFMZ-TV in Pennsylvania. Before that I spent time at the CBS station in Lincoln, NE and the ABC station in Kansas City, MO learning the ropes. It was a great place to be since the Midwest experiences a wide range of weather.
Of course you must know that I am not all business, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, two beautiful daughters, and feisty little Shih Tzu Lily. My house is always buzzing with work, kid’s stuff, family/friends, and our Christmas tree business. On a sunny afternoon you might even find me in the high country on a Christmas tree farm getting our trees ready for the upcoming season. I’m a great hand at fertilizing, spraying, and tagging….not so much the sheering, very hard work.
When I have some free time I usually try to find a fun adventurous activity like sky diving, white water rafting, skiing, or four wheeling. To wind down and relax I love to do yoga, enjoy a glass of wine at one of my favorite wineries, or watch movies. Traveling is another passion of mine and I would love to see the many different cultures around the world. I am the best of both worlds, stylish and outdoorsy.
