- Did someone say AGGIE PRIDE?! Well, I’ve got plenty! I graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina A&T State University with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications in 2012, making FOX 46 Charlotte my second stint in this majestic state. I guess I do like my tea sweet after all!
I’m a storyteller, and your stories have the potential to live forever, which is why anchoring the weekend morning editions of “Good Day Charlotte” and reporting during the week is the perfect job for me. I love meeting great people in the field and helping you get your mornings started at home.
Before Charlotte, I spent two years as a weekend anchor/reporter at the NBC affiliate in Joplin, MO. Living in the middle of the country; I can tell you almost anything about tornadoes! But, I can also tell you about the strength of small-town America.
But that’s not home for me either; I’m born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. So, if you’re talking deep-dish pizza, hotdogs, or shopping on Michigan Avenue-- you’re speaking my language! But eating and shopping aren’t my only talents; I’m also a self-proclaimed “dog whisperer,” world traveler, and a sci-fi movie fanatic.
“To whom much is given, much is required.” In 2014, I co-founded the organization Goal Diggers, which aims to teach teenagers communication skills to help them reach their full potential. Additionally, I’m a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, as well as the Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists. Television media is an exhilaratingly, powerful field; and through storytelling, I plan to use it as a platform to inspire all people to become better human beings. If you have any events or stories in the community I should know about, email me at Felicia.Lawrence@foxtv.com.
