Daily Special: Healthy Slow Cooked BBQ Chicken

Healthy slow cooked BBQ chicken by Chris Bryan, Carolina Sweat.
  • 2 lbs of cage free chicken breast
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cracked black pepper


  1. Add 2 lbs of chicken breast to a slow cooker with 1/2 cup of water.
  2. Combine all other ingredients into a saucepan over medium-high heat and whisk to combine.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, until the sauce has reduced by about half.
  4. Add 1 cup of sauce to slow cooker.
  5. Let rest of sauce cool and store in a glass jar.
