What's Your Dish? Katya Lezin Makes Grown-Up Rice Krispies Treats

Katya Lezin makes brown butter & sea salt Rice Krispies treats for Good Day Charlotte's "What's Your Dish?" series.
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
  • 1 package mini marshmallows
  • 9 cups Rice Krispy cereal
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  1. Melt butter in large pasta pot over medium flame.  Continue melting butter until it turns brown; watch carefully so that it doesn't burn.  
  2. After butter has browned, remove from heat and add mini marshmallows. Stir to combine with buttered spatula.
  3. Add Rice Krispy cereal and stir well, being careful not to crush the cereal.  Add coarse sea salt.
  4. Spread in a greased 9x13 pan and let sit until firm, about 30 minutes.
  5. Cut treats into desired shapes and decorate with melted chocolate and Halloween-themed sprinkles and candies.
