CHARLOTTE - Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department helped deliver a new born baby on I-77 on Saturday around 4:30 a.m.
Police were assisting a fatal wreck along the interstate near south Clarkson Street when a pregnant woman stuck in traffic and ready to give birth flagged them down.
Officer Caskey and Officer Jackson immediately rushed to help the pregnant woman and assisted in her delivery.
Soon after, the woman was blessed with a healthy baby girl.
Both the mother and her baby were transported to Carolinas Medical Center and are doing well.
