4th of July festivities going as planned at US National Whitewater Center

- Despite the temporary closure of its whitewater area, Independence Day celebrations at the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) in Charlotte, NC will go on as planned, according to officials at the center.

USNWC‘s 4th of July Festival will be a two-day celebration with outdoor adventure, live music, and spectacular firework displays.

Musical performances on the Belmont Abbey Island stage will take place in the afternoon and evening, followed by a stunning firework display over the world’s largest manmade whitewater river, according to the USNWC website.

Sunday, July 3, 2016:

3:00 p.m. – Cornhole Tournament

3:30pm – Terrace Access Opens

4:00pm – Fireside Collective

6:00pm – The Congress

8:00pm – The Wood Brothers

9:30pm – Fireworks

Monday, July 4, 2016:

4:00pm – Ancient Cities

6:00pm – Hollis Brown
