Neighbors in shock after double shooting near Concord Mills Mall

"I heard a couple of bang, bang, pop, pop, not sure what it was but the dog started barking. Just looked out the window, didn't see anything," Charles Mines said. 
 
Neighbors in the Ardmore King's Grant apartment complex near Concord Mills Mall are shocked to hear two people were shot Saturday morning in their apartment.
 
"Pretty scary. I mean I work two jobs and sometimes I'm coming in late and it's just kind of scary to think that stuff like this is happening right outside my front door," Kelly Wiegand said. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are still investigating the shooting. 

Officers responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon on the 8200 block of Chesthunt Place Drive at 5:33 a.m. Saturday morning. 

According to police, a man and woman were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at the scene. Both victims were taken to CMC-Main, one with life-threatening injuries. 

Neighbors say they heard gunshots and saw a person they didn't recognize sitting in the steps near where the shooting occurred.
