CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - "I'm ready for tailgating; I'm ready for chicken wings, all the stuff that comes along with football," said Tom Bramhall.
The NFL Draft, free agency and mini camps have come and gone.
"We are ready. This is our time of the year. I'm ready for it to get cranked back up. Everybody is in a better mood when football is back on," said Robby Stringer.
Thursday the Panthers kick off the preseason against the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore. Preseason or not, it is real football.
"I'm really excited. It is my favorite time of the year. It is the Panthers, you cannot beat it,'" says Katie Powell.
While most fans are ready for the preseason game against the Ravens, they are also ready to put last year's Super Bowl loss to the Denver Broncos behind them.
"I think everybody wants to start fresh. You know a big disappointment last year in the Super Bowl, but start over fresh and try to do it again this year," Robby Stringer told us.
"They know how to get to the game, now they have to win the game and it is going to be fun," said Jason Weselove.
One thing to also keep an eye on as football gets cranked up for 2016 is the restaurants in the area that will start to fill up. Kristophers is in Matthews, NC and their manager talked with FOX46 today.
"We have already had phone calls today to make sure the game was going to be on tonight; wanted to know if the volume was going to be up. You know competing with the Olympics, it will be on."
