Undercover drug operation leads to three arrests in Lincolnton

- Three people have been arrested after Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies spent six months investigating drug activity that took place in the 1300 block of Clarence Beam Road in Lincolnton.

Neighbors complained several times about drug sales occurring at two difference residences that have caused disruptions over the past several months. 

That's when detectives began their undercover operation and issued a search warrant. They started by making multiple purchases of methamphetamine from people living at both locations.

 

Investigators also used surveillance techniques to monitor the activity and developed information leading to the search of the residence.  Detectives seized methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia during the operation. 

Donald Joseph Gaul, 52, was charged with two felony counts each of Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, and Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances.  He received a $30,000 secured bond. 

Sandra Lynn Gaul, 46, 1256 Clarence Beam Rd., was charged with two felony counts each of Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance.  She was also charged with one felony count of Maintaining a Dwell for Controlled Substances.  She received a $15,000 secured bond.  Sandra, who was already in jail on multiple other unrelated charges, now has a total bond of $106,000 secured. 

William Elton Patterson, 45, 1338 Clarence Beam Rd., was charged with one felony count of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance and one misdemeanor count each of Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He received a$20,000 secured bond. 

Authorities said more arrests are likely.
