Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged a 16 year old and 15 year old in connection to a shooting that occurred at a northeast Charlotte nightclub.

Officers were called to the Spice Lounge, 4116 N. Tryon St., around 10:30 p.m. where they found four people between the ages of 14-16 suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the nightclub where a party was taking place.

Medic transported the victims to CMC for treatment. One of the victim’s injuries is considered life threatening.

Police charged 16-year-old Carnis Poindexter, Jr. with possession of a firearm by minor and a 15 year old male with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a minor and shooting in the city limits.

Both Poindexter and the juvenile were at the Spice Lounge at the time of the shooting, officials confirm.

At some point during the investigation after the shooting, officers were able to find Poindexter’s car. They located a gun inside his car. That’s when Poindexter was charged with possessing a gun. The 15 year old admitted to police he fired a gun into the air after the shooting occurred.

Two firearms were located and seized at the scene. Several suspects were taken to police headquarters for questioning.

CMPD is still searching for the suspect who reportedly shot four people.

A guy who rented out part of the Spice Lounge says he left the area a couple weeks ago because he feels too many crime-related incidents had been happening over the last few months.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
