CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A five-year-old child has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in southwest Charlotte Thursday evening.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call for a child hit by a car just after 6p.m. at Nations Ford Road and Willetta Drive.
According to police, the little boy ran out into the street in front of an oncoming car. He was transported to CMC main with non life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver of the car will face no charges in relation to the accident, but was arrested on scene for driving with a suspended license.
