Belmont police searching for suspect in armed robbery of Murphy USA

- The Belmont Police Department is on the lookout for a man who they say robbed a convenience store.

Police responded to an armed robbery call around 7 a.m. on Saturday at Murphy USA, 100 Caldwell Farm Road. When they arrived on scene, the suspect had fled the scene.

No injuries at the scene were reported, according to officials.

The victim involved described the suspect as a black male, approximately 5'9, wearing a dark coat, possibly with a light gray colored hoodie underneath, light colored pants and white and black colored tennis shoes.

The suspect also wore a black ski mask covering his face and black gloves on his hands. The man got into a large black SUV with tinted windows.
