91-year-old WWII vet's driveway gets installed

- A transformation weeks in the making

"I just can't say enough, I can't say enough about it," said Victor DiVitoria.  

The WWII veteran at a loss for words. His once problematic and uneven driveway getting a make over after FOX 46 aired his original story weeks ago.

"FOX Charlotte is the network that got us on the air and showed the people what was was going on," DiVitoria said.

The project spearheaded by neighbor Toney Graham. 

"He deserved this and I'm glad that I can be part of the project," Graham. 

Graham and others helped tear apart the old driveway. 
A Gofundme was set up and more than enough money was raised to purchase the concrete, but graham is no contractor that's where Shawn Patrick comes in. 

"I said I'll be there. Don't worry about getting any tools or anything, I have everything you need
I will just bring it over, lay it down and we'll get it down," said Patrick.  

Thanks to Concrete Supply and Wayne Brothers for providing the concrete free of charge and Patrick donating his time, the vet is grateful the community joined efforts to pave the way for this new driveway. 

"This is fantastic. The work that's done here today is just incredible," said DiVitoria.
