Man under the influence hits, kills pedestrian in north Charlotte

A 53-year-old man has died after he was hit and killed by a driver in north Charlotte on Sunday morning. 
Around 1:20 a.m., the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a crash in the 4900 block of North Tryon Street. 
Police say Christopher Giovanni Sarai Granillo, 23, was speeding in a 2006 Honda Civic in the left lane when he struck 53-year-old Douglas Clough who was attempting to cross the street. Clough died at the scene. His family has been notified. 
Granillo was transported by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Granillo has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, felony death by vehicle, driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and open container. 
CMPD is still investigating the crash.
