Police: 2 wanted after stealing cash from car wash change machine

- The Lincolnton Police Department is asking for the publics' help in identifying two people who broke into the cash and change machine at a local car wash. 

Officers received the breaking and entering call on Monday, May 16 at the Pro Wash USA car wash located at 2210 Hartman Street. 

Upon arrival, police spoke with an employee who said that sometime the night before on Sunday, May 15 someone broke into the cash and change machine.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken. Damage done to the machine was in excess to $1,000.

Officers said they viewed the video surveillance footage that captured the incident.  The crime occurred on Sunday, May 15 at approximately 11:30 p.m.

They said the suspects appear to be a white male and an unknown race female in a late model Chevrolet Captiva. The male suspect appears to commit the actual breaking and entering as the female suspect appears to serve as a lookout. 

The man is described as in his mid 20’s, wearing camouflage, cargo shorts, a black shirt, and a ball cap. The woman is described as wearing a hoodie style shirt pulled over her head. 

Detectives said they're in the process of getting the surveillance footage enhanced to assist in identification.

Detectives are asking people and businesses to be on the lookout for these two people and to contact police if anyone attempts or has already cashed in several one dollar bills or a large amount of change currency.
