Man identified in fatal University City shooting

- Charlotte Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a man was found dead in the in the University Area in northeast Charlotte around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers say several individuals were inside an apartment in the 4000 block of Collegiate Avenue where an altercation broke out that ended in a fatal shooting. Officers found 20-year-old Adrian Potts suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.

Two males also involved remain hospitalized at Carolinas Medical Center- University with non-life threatening injuries from gunshot wounds. Another man was also treated at CMC-University for a gunshot wound, but was released on Saturday.
