Police looking for man accused of 29-minute crime spree

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s responded to a series of robberies Friday night around 6 p.m. in the Independence Division.

According to investigators a man robbed four local businesses within a 29-minute time period. The first occurred at 6:14 p.m. at the Family Dollar located at 7308 East Independence Boulevard, followed by the Super G Mart located at 7323 East Independence Boulevard, then the CVS located at 2325 Village Lake Drive, and his last stop at Queen Soul Food located at 7308 East Independence Boulevard around 6:45 p.m.

CMPD has connected these robberies to one suspect saying he passed a note requesting money but did not receive any. The suspect has been described as a black male wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Police is now asking for the public’s help to locate the suspect.
