Charlotte, NC - People who live near the Eastland Mall property are hopeful the city will reconsider selling the land to CMS to build a school.
The city is slated to vote on selling 11 of the 80 acres on April 25th.
Those who live nearby rallied near the site on Saturday.
They say the vacant lot should be used to bring businesses to the area.
The city bought the site in 2012 and has been trying to find ways to revitalize the area.
Members of the group 'Save Eastland' say the best option would be to make room for businesses to grow there.
