Rock Hill family marching to stop violence in their neighborhood

- The Cureton family has had enough with the violence in Rock Hill.  They marched for the second time to bring awareness and bring justice for their niece, Latoya Cureton, who was gunned down last summer.

They walked 27 laps in her honor, for the 27 years she lived.

The family also wanted to help bring justice to other families who lost a loved on to senseless crime.

Latoya’s body was found in the yard of an abandoned home on Green street in Rock Hill last august. Rock Hill police arrested and accused Robert Daquan Johnson for shooting and killing Latoya.

The family continues without answers since then. They decided to take action and offered a reward to get results.

Rock Hill Police tell FOX46 Charlotte that Johnson continues to be a person of interest in the death of Latoya.  Originally, prosecutors dismissed charges against him because further investigation is still needed. Rock Hill Police say that is someone comes forward and offers sufficient evidence that could change.

For now, the family and their friends continue to march for justice and hope someone comes forward.
