CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, state troopers and Hazmat responded to an accident involving a tractor trailer and SUV on I-77 northbound near Clanton Road around 3:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Troopers say a gold SUV was on the ramp from Clanton Road to I-77 northbound. A tractor trailer was traveling north on I-77. The SUV merged and collided with the tractor trailer.
Both vehicles lost control and collided with the guardrail on the right shoulder. The hit caused the tractor trailer to travel off the side of the road and turn over into the woods.
The driver of the SUV and driver of the truck were transported to CMC-Main by Medic. One was released and the other was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.
All lanes were blocked for a couple of hours causing congestion and delays.
