ARLINGTON, TX - Rescue efforts were underway after a roller coaster became stuck on the tracks at Six Flags Over Texas Friday morning, trapping 12 people on board.
KDFW-TV reported the New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster—formerly known as The Shockwaver—was stuck on the ride’s initial ascent at about 11 a.m.
Park officials said a sensor indicated a possible problem with the ride, stopping the train at a “safe place.”
Live video from a helicopter overhead showed about four to five service workers climbing stairs to get to the stranded riders about 11:30 a.m. Riders were helped one-by-one off the coaster to safety.
All passengers had been released within the hour.
No injuries had been reported.
