A lot of trash talking and friendly wagers are being made between Panthers and Seahawks fans. The mayors of both cities are even getting in on the fun.
“As much as I’d love to share our fine southern cuisine with our cross country colleagues, they will have to settle for eating crow after we beat the ‘Hawks,” said Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts.
If the Panthers beat the Seahawks, Seattle's mayor will send Roberts beer from a Seattle Brewery, wine from the South Seattle College’s Northwest Wine Academy, and Chinese barbeque from Kau Kau in Seattle's Chinatown-International District.
If the Seahawks beat the Panthers, Roberts will send Seattle's mayor barbeque from Mac’s Speed Shop, beer from The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, and salted caramel brownies from Amelie’s French Bakery.
And BTW, a morning hello to @SeattleFire from your Charlotte Firefighters, and a quick reminder. YOU ARE GOING DOWN!!!!!— IAFF Local660 (@CFFALocal660) January 15, 2016
Congressmen Robert Pittenger and Patrick McHenry, as well as Congresswoman Alma Adams have a friendly bet with Seattle's Congressman Jim McDermott. If the Panthers win, McDermott will send salmon and Theo's chocolate. If the Seahawks win, the NC delegates will send Krispy Kreme donuts, Bojangles chicken and Cheerwine.
Do you have a friendly wager going on with some Seahawks fans? Tell us about it!
The Panthers play the Seahawks Sunday in Bank of America Stadium. The game will be on FOX 46 WJZY at 1:05 p.m.
