Deputies: Two charged with murder after shooting, killing man in Rowan County

Two men are charged with murder after deputies say they shot a 48-year-old man and fled the scene in Kannapolis on Sunday.
Detectives with the Rowan County Sheriff's Office were called out to Carter Street where they found a white male shot to death in the roadway. He has been identified as Christopher Todd Rumple.
Officials say a witness reported a tan car leaving the scene and called 911.
That's when police issued a Be On The Lookout. A short time later, China Grove police officers came across a car that matched the description of the suspect car possibly involved in the shooting.
Officers were then able to stop the car on I-85 near Webb Road.
Deputies discovered a handgun and two men inside the vehicle.
Both 21-year-old Jai Montreal Winchester and 20-year-old Jahari S. Rustin of Salisbury were identified as the suspects in the shooting and were transported to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office where they were charged with murder.
