A woman was found shot to death in a driveway behind a real estate business at The Plaza and Hamorton Place in east Charlotte Saturday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
She has been identified as 26-year-old Katherine Memory Jones.
Police responded to a shots fired call around 2:45 a.m. in the 1300 block of the Plaza. When they arrived to the location, they discovered Jones lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medic pronounced her dead on scene. Jones' family has been notified of her death.
Capt. Tori Tellis said investigators were looking for witnesses. No arrests have been made.
Jones had worked at the nearby Midwood Smokehouse barbecue restaurant for about a year, the business' director of operations said. He would not say if she had worked Friday night.
Police are still investigating the homicide and what led up to the shooting.

Jevona Livingston, Ketie's mother, posted to Facebook on Sunday:
"I don't want to post this, it hurts. Ketie had so many friends and family all over. People far away are asking so here is what happened. We are also setting up a go fund me page for her expenses as requested by many friends and family. We are deeply hurting but we appreciate all the love. Kétie Memory Jones was our rock, our light in the dark. I had moved to Asheville and we had set up a mommy daughter day for the 28th. I will never have that now. That last hug, the last time she will ever lay her head on my chest. I am at a complete loss. I went to CM last night to talk to get friends and hear all there stories. I need that right now. Thank you all for the love you all have for her. Remember to love, there may never be another chance."
