3 shot, 1 killed, gunman sought on Sacramento college campus

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Sacramento Police say three men have been shot and one of them has died near a baseball field on the campus of Sacramento City College.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon at East Way, an access road that comes into the eastern half of the campus, according to Rick Brewer, school's public information officer.

Four men were involved in an altercation when one pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and shot three of them. One man was pronounced dead on the scene and another was shot multiple times and taken to the University of California at Davis Medical Center where he is in serious condition. The third man was grazed by a bullet, according to Brewer.

The campus is still on lockdown while police search for a suspect with no shirt wearing cargo shorts.

Police are coordinating with students and teachers allowing them to leave the campus as they search the buildings. Night classes have been canceled.
