COLUMBIA, SC - A South Carolina fire captain is off the job after being fired for a post he made to social media.
WACH-TV reported that Columbia Fire Captain Jimmy Morris lost his job over a post to Facebook regarding a Black Lives/All Lives protest that took place Sunday night.
In his post, Morris implied he was going to run over protesters that were blocking a portion of I-126.
Morris was terminated on Monday.
Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins released a statement Monday saying “the Columbia Fire Department will not condone or tolerate this type of behavior.”
City Manager Teresea Wilson also released a statement saying she supported Jenkins’ decision.
