The Million Youth March of Charlotte organization is celebrating their two-year anniversary of being in the Queen City.
The group hosts events in the community to take a stand against violence, drugs and things that negatively impact local neighborhoods.
Mario Black, the founder, tells FOX46 he started the organization after a family member was shot and killed in Charlotte exactly two years ago.
Davion Funderburk was 22 years old at the time.
Black is overjoyed to celebrate two years of helping the community come together through difficult times.
Community members gathered at Marshall Park on Sunday at 7pm to celebrate the anniversary and do a balloon releasing ceremony to remember Funderburk’s life.
