Carolina Panthers wide receiver Stephen Hill has been cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Concord Police Department report obtained by Fox 46 News.

The report indicates Hill, who spent most of last season on the practice squad, was stopped Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Weddington Road and Bruton Smith Boulevard for a seat belt violation. The officer smelled marijuana when he stopped Hill and searched the car, according to Concord Police Chief Gary Gacek. The officer found Hill was knowingly in possession of drug paraphernalia including two grinders and a marijuana bowl. The officer did not observe any signs of impairment.

The Carolina Panthers said Thursday they will let the citation go through the "proper legal process."
