CMPD: Two arrested in cell phone robbery

23-year-old Samuel Harold Lloyd, II and 20- year-old Darius Mariner have been charged with armed robbery. Lloyd and Mariner robbed a man who met with them after they advertised a cell phone online.

The incident occurred Monday afternoon when the victim met with Lloyd and Mariner to buy the cell phone. The two suspects robbed the victim of his money and phone and left in a burgundy Mustang.

A description was quickly broadcasted of the suspects and their car and a CMPD officer located the suspect car on North Graham Street. According to the CMPD, the officer followed the car along with the Helicopter unit, until officers from the Independence and Hickory Grove Divisions could help in a traffic stop in the 6700 block of Albemarle Road. The suspects were placed in custody.

According to the CMPD Mr. Lloyd and Mr. Mariner were charged with Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and 2nd Degree Kidnapping.
