"He said he didn't see me. He came through where I was standing and ran right into me. I saw him at the last moment, was able to get my sign down and kinda rolled out of the way so I didn't take a full impact," Lemon explained. "He got out, he asked if I was ok. He was apologizing profusely... And then he moved his car but he just kept going."
Lemon went to Novant Matthews with minor injuries. He was back at work guiding children across the street Friday afternoon.
Lemon has been a crossing guard for three years, and his supervisor says he's beloved by the community. "Michael Lemon really is the personification of what my crossing guards are," she says.
