LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A small helicopter crashed in Lincoln County after experiencing a problem moments after take off, officials said.
Crews responded to the crash landing around 11 a.m. along Every Drive at Leepers Street in Iron Station, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
According to the FAA, the pilot of a Mosquito XE was hovering on his property when the tail rotor hit a tree and the helicopter went down.
The pilot suffered minor scratches on his face and is expected to be okay, officials said.
