One mas is in custody and police continue to search for a second person in connection to an armed robbery that led to a police chase near uptown Charlotte Monday night.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say officers were called to an armed robbery and carjacking in the 2200 block of Park Road around 11:26 p.m.Officers spotted the suspect vehicle a short time later and say they attempted to pull the driver over, but that the occupants refused.
The two occupants jumped and ran from the vehicle on S. Clarkson Street at the I-77 south ramp, police said. Jerry McCorey, 27, was arrested in the case and the other person took off. The victim's vehicle was found in the Wilmore neighborhood, according to police.
McCorey is charged with reckles driving to endanger, driving while license revoked not impaired, resisting a public officer, flee/elude arrest, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
