GASTONIA, NC (FOX 46) - One person was shot and killed Thursday morning outside a local Gastonia plasma center, police said.
The incident happened about 9:47 a.m. Thursday, June 1 in the 500 block of New Hope Road, according to Gastonia police.

Police said this incident was not a random shooting. The victim, Demetrius Terrell Wheeling, 39, of Clover, SC, and the suspect knew each other.
The two men reportedly got into a confrontation outside Kedplasma and the suspect, Adrian Martel Curry, 28, of Gastonia, NC, shot Wheeling.
Wheeling was transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
Curry has been charged with first-degree murder.
