Police: Two injured in west Charlotte shooting

- A west Charlotte shooting put one person in the hospital Monday afternoon, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. 

The shooting occurred in the 3000 block of Caronia St. near Ross Ave. in west Charlotte. Officers were called to the scene and upon arrival, found a man with a gunshot wound.

Police said the man was shot in the torso and was left with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the Carolinas Medical Center where doctors are treating him.

A woman who was also at the scene was grazed by a bullet. She was also taken to the hospital with a minor leg injury. 

Reports said the victim and another unknown man were shooting at each other when the victim was hit.

Detectives are working to determine if the suspect and victim knew each other and what the motive of the shootout was.

No arrests have been made at this time.
