Police arrest man in SE Charlotte shooting that injured one

- One man has been taken into custody in connection to a shooting in southeast Charlotte that injured one person, police said. 

Anson Carter, 39, has been transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail.

The shooting occurred at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 5900 Farm Pond Ln. Police said the suspect, Carter, shot a person in the foot and then took items belonging to multiple people on scene. 

Police said the suspect fired multiple shots, which entered another home. He also prevented victims from leaving, as well as moved a victim at gunpoint. 

The person who was shot in the foot was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. 

The suspect, Carter, was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and a firearm while being a convicted felon. He's charged with two counts of false imprisonment, three counts of assault by pointing a gun, second-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony possession of cocaine, discharging a firearm in occupied property, and possession of firearm by a felon. 

This incident remains under investigation.
