1 rushed to hospital after shooting in E. Charlotte

- One person has been taken to the hospital after being shot in east Charlotte Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The shooting was reported in the 6900 block of Albemarle Road, near the intersection with E. W.T. Harris Boulevard, according to Medic 911.

The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. 

Albemarle Road is closed while police work the scene. No word yet on when it will be reopened.
