1 suspect charged, deputies search for another after store robbery

- Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office have charged one suspect and are searching for another in connection to a robbery that took place Monday morning.

The suspect in custody is Tyrone Matthew Rozzell, 46. He was a person of interest in the case and was identified through ATM video surveillance. He has been charged a felony count of robbery.

The other suspect is yet to be identified. Detectives are working to gather information on him. He's described as a black male, last seen with a dark colored hoodie tied tightly around his face.

Around 8:00 a.m. on Monday the two men entered Jerry’s One Stop convenience store at 3778 E. Hwy 27 and pretended to make a small purchase.

When the register was opened, one man reached over and grabbed cash. After a struggle with the store owner, the two then fled the scene on foot. 

A customer who at the gas pumps followed the suspects who later got into a silver 2014 Hyundai Elantra with a North Carolina license plate of FAB-1872 and fled the scene.
