Man taken to hospital after shooting in N. Charlotte

- A man is being treated at the hospital after a shooting Tuesday in a north Charlotte neighborhood, officials said.

The shooting happened about 1:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Stonehenge Lane, according to Medic. The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of a gun shot wound.

CMPD said the man thought he recognized someone outside his home and when he walked outside he was shot. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening. 

A heavy police presence was on scene Tuesday, including the K-9 unit and police helicopter.
