Police: Man wounded in Rock Hill shooting charged with attempted murder

- The Rock Hill Police have made an arrest in the shooting incident in Rock Hill Friday afternoon.

Officers say the man they arrested fired at his friend's killer.

Quintonio Porter,23, was driving his friend, Jarrius Harding when someone shot into the car and killed Harding.

Officers say Porter had a gun with him and fired back.

He is now charged with attempted murder. Porter was shot in the leg, but has been treated.

Officers responded to a shots fired call around 1 p.m. Friday, March 4 at Black Street and Keels Avenue. 

Upon arrival, police discovered two men inside a vehicle one mile north, at the 600 block of Cauthen Street. One of the men, identified as Jarrius Harding, 18, of Rock Hill, was pronounced dead on scene.

Authorities say autopsy and toxicology testing was conducted Friday. Results could take several weeks.

Porter was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment. 

Police say the vehicle was shot at Black St. and Keels and then Porter drove to Cauthen Street. 

At this time, police say they cannot be sure if this incident is connected to the reported overnight shootings. 

Porter's bond was denied in municipal court. Rock Hill Police are continuing to investigate.
