CMPD identifies victim in deadly early morning shooting

- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says they've identified the man who was killed following an early morning shooting along the 100 block of Park Fairfax Drive. 

Officers say Dallas Germaine Stowe, 18, died from his injuries after being transported to the ER.

Police received a call around 2:45 a.m. Monday, March 7 for investigate a possible assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they were told a man had been already transported to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.

Detectives have identified the suspect as DeMichael Tye Adams, 19. They say earlier Monday morning Adams voluntarily came to police headquarters where he was interviewed. 

He was subsequently charged with involuntary manslaughter and taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. Detectives determined Stowe and Adams knew each other. 

The investigation is ongoing.
