Chester Co. detention officer accused of relationship with inmate

A Chester County Detention Center officer is now accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate. This is according to an arrest warrant we got our hands on.

The Chester County sheriff's office says they had to act quickly after hearing that one of their employees had a sexual encounter with an inmate.

Dominiece White is accused of meeting an inmate in a kitchen pantry and getting involved in an inappropriate encounter.

The arrest warrant states it happened on March 5th.

The sheriff's office says they hold all employees to a high standard and that this is troubling to find out.

"This was an unfortunate incident. And once we found out about it, we jumped on it very quickly. And unfortunately we had to charge one of our officers,” Chief Deputy Robert Sprouse said.

White was arrested and later released. Sshe's charged with misconduct in office.White has since been terminated from the job.

We went by her house to get her side of the story.  She wasn't home. Family members  did not want to go on camera, but they believe the accusation is not true.

The sheriff's office says there are surveillance video and witness statements to prove it.

White had been working there for five years before she was let go from her position.

Her duties as a detention officer are to supervise officers on her shift and all the inmates both pre-trial and sentenced.

The sheriff's office wouldn't talk about whether or not white had any disciplinary issues in the past.

This is still an ongoing investigation.

White's family says they plan on getting an attorney to fight this.
