Construction equipment stolen in Lancaster Co., police search for suspects

- The Lancaster Sheriff's Office is searching for the person or persons who stole a truck, a trailer, and excavator, and tools from a home in Kershaw.

The incident happened around 3:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8 at a home along Lynnfield Street.

Deputies said the home sits at the corner of Lynnfield Street and East Hilton Street (U. S. Highway 601). They said the trailer was attached to the truck, and the excavator was on the trailer.

Home video surveillance footage shows the truck with the trailer and the excavator being driven out of the yard onto Highway 601 and traveling east toward the Flat Creek community.

Deputies said the truck is a white 1989 Ford F-450 service truck with a white ladder rack and a black Tommy Lift gate. An orange air compressor with a hose reel is mounted behind the back window, and an orange generator is mounted on the tool box near the back of the truck.

The tool boxes contained tools. They said the trailer is a green seven-ton dual-axle tilt trailer. The excavator is a 2014 Kubota mini excavator, model number KX040-4. The excavator is orange.

Attached are photographs of a truck of the same year, make, model, and color of the stolen truck, a trailer similar in appearance to the stolen trailer but of a different color, and an excavator identical to the stolen excavator.

A private citizen is offering a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this theft.

Anyone with information should call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 803-283-3388 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or www.sccrimestoppers.com.
