Charlotte man arrested in undercover drug investigation

- A Charlotte man was arrested this week following an undercover drug investigation. 

Javon Natario Hornes, 27, was arrested on Monday, April 4 at Love’s Travel Center located at 1105 Peeler Road in Salisbury.

Police said Hornes sold 128 Xanax tablets and one ounce of “hydro” marijuana to an undercover investigator.  

A small amount of United States currency and marijuana was also recovered from Hornes.  

He's been charged with two counts of Possess with Intent to Sell/Deliver Xanax and Marijuana, and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

When Hornes was arrested, investigators discovered that he was wanted in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, for two counts of probation violation. 

Bond was set at $35,000 on all five charges and Hornes remains in the Rowan County Detention Center. 

Hornes also had six previous felony convictions in Mecklenburg County for attempted first degree burglary, attempted second degree burglary, breaking and entering, and larceny after breaking and entering.
