Police investigating attempted abduction of two young boys in Fort Mill

- A man attempted to abduct a 7 and 10-year-old on their way to school this morning in Fort Mill, according to York County and Fort Mill officials.

The two boys were walking to Pleasant Knoll Elementary School on Whitley Road to Pleasant Road when the incident occurred.

The 10-year-old told Fort Mill Police a man wearing a dark grey hoodie, sweatshirt and dark pants walked out of the woods holding a knife in one hand and pliers in the other and said, "Come here boy."

Police say the 10-year-old told the 7-year-old to run. The two ran up a hill away from the man and realized they were not being chased. They walked back home to tell their parents.

The YCSO K-9 Unit was on scene tracking the suspect.

The school went on a brief lockdown as precaution.
