Mosquitoes that carry Zika virus now in 30 states

WASHINGTON (AP) - Scientists say the mosquito-borne Zika virus is no longer considered a mere nuisance.

They increasingly believe the Zika virus sweeping through Latin America and the Caribbean causes devastating defects in fetal brains if women become infected during pregnancy.

Researchers say everything they look at tells them Zika is "scarier" than initially thought.

They say money is needed to fight the virus.
