CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - Eleven bicyclists on a cross-country journey made a stop in the Queen City on Tuesday.
Among the riders were hand cyclists and military veterans.
Tuesday's ceremony started at the Carolinas Healthcare System Livewell building.
The riders began their journey near Camp Pendleton in California on April 10, and talked with FOX 46 about being on the road.
"Cycling through the night where it was 30 degrees in the mountains in New Mexico, to the dusty plains of Texas, coming in and eating lots of mosquitoes, but it's the constant level of support and we always have fun together," Aaron Harper, Military & Veterans Affairs, said.
The group is raising awareness and funds for programs that support the disabled. They will make a stop in Myrtle Beach on April 21 and will finish the ride at Camp Lejeune on April 24.
