15-year-old tries to run over ex-boyfriend, charged with attempted murder

- A 15-year-old girl has been charged with attempted murder after trying to run over her ex-boyfriend, according to Rock Hill Police.

On Tuesday, August 25, police responded to South Pointe High School in reference to a girl trying to run over her ex-boyfriend.

According to police the ex-boyfriend told police that the day before his ex-girlfriend sent him multiple text messages threatening him because of their break up.

The officer read where the ex-boyfriend asked the girl to leave him alone multiple times. The girl said she would get a group of "FAM" and come shoot him, according to the officer. She said, "I know where you live," and typed out his address.

The ex-boyfriend told the officers he was walking out of wrestling practice around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday and heard an engine revving and coming at him. He saw his ex-girlfriend driving a green jeep ten feet from him. The girl slammed on the gas as he ran away. He ran from the scene and was told by officers to go to the Rock Hill Law Center.

Officers met with the Vice Principal to look at camera footage,  which officers say clearly showed the incident. The 15-year-old suspect will be petitioned as a juvenile and the case will be heard in family court, according to police.
