Police: Monroe pastor charged with assault on child worked at Union Co. schools

- A Monroe pastor is facing multiple charges after police said he assaulted a child under the age of 12 in 2014. 

Police arrested Ahmed Lee, 36, of Monroe, Monday morning and charged him with indecent liberties with a child and assault on a child under 12.

Officers said both charges stem from an alleged assault that occurred in 2014. 

The victim was 11-years-old at the time of the assault.

Lee is the pastor of “Judah House of Praise International World Ministries” which meets at the Jameson Inn in Monroe. 

The victim’s family attended the church and the alleged assault occurred at Lee’s home.

Lee also worked for Union County Schools, according to a spokesperson with the schools.

He worked as a group leader in an after school program, which at the time was for elementary school kids, ages K-5.

Lee was hired in December 2013 and left the district in 2015.

Monroe police are still investigating Lee and if there are any other possible victims.

According to jail officials, Lee has been released from the jail on bond.
