INDIAN TRAIL, NC (WJZY) - Carolina Waterfowl Rescue has two new additions. Volunteers are taking care of two female cows. The cows were part of an animal seizure investigation in South Carolina.
Their names are Daisy and Maybelle.
Volunteer Melissa Reynard told FOX 46 Charlotte the cows were living with two other cows in a 10 x 10 pen. The other cows were taken to another rescue.
"They were just filthy, they had diseases, parasites, they were also about 100 pounds underweight, just deplorable conditions all around,” she said.
The cows have plenty of room and plenty to eat at the rescue. The rescue’s veterinarian will take a look at the cows to see how they’re recovering and to see if they’ll stay or go to another rescue.
The rescue is a not-for-profit and is always in need of donations and volunteers, especially after taking in these cows.
